Her work expresses a fascination with intricate detail, beauty, pattern and textures and draws direct reference to her experience in preserving, documenting and storing scientific specimens in a museum context. She explores playfully with scale and uses her extensive knowledge of traditional and modern design materials to push boundaries, creating innovative new collections. Her Etched Entomology series was inspired by research in the scientific collections at Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales and combines techniques which are normally used in printmaking, printed circuit board manufacturing and jewellery design. Images are drawn directly onto a copper surface, which is then etched, oxidised, sanded, scratched and polished. Each finished piece displays unique variations in the surface patina and intricate, shining copper details.
