Following her community appeal for empty, clean cans from sardines, mackerel, tuna and anchovies, mixed-media artist Karen O’Shea is highlighting both the plight of people in poverty who have to use food banks, and the importance of healthy eating for our physical and mental well-being.
Workshop participants are asked to bring along a full tin of healthy food to donate to a local food bank, and will be able to create a mini artwork using collage techniques within a recycled canned-fish tin.
And whether or not you are attending the workshop, if you have a penchant for sardines, do please send in any clean canned fish tins in advance of the festival. Food bank donations are also most welcome.
