Jill’s work is hand built with stoneware clay using traditional pinching and coiling techniques. The pieces are then scraped down in order to refine the form and reveal the texture of the clay.
She uses mostly oxides, slips or dry glazes to colour the clay. Jill is attracted to, and influenced by, the way corrosion and erosion affect surfaces, for example: rusting metal, ageing wood, and weathered stone.
