Experience the unique style of Chinese and Japanese ink painting. Using simple bamboo brush strokes on delicate rice paper to create beautiful reflections of nature. Expressive, quick, and fun! Everyone is welcome to get involved or watch Peng’s live painting demonstrations. Beginners and children can get stuck in with simple but effective bamboo and blossom paintings. Those keen to learn more can attempt complex flowers and birds. Finish off by learning your Chinese name and signing your work!

An exhibition and workshop for all ages run by Chinese born artist Peng Su, now a Roath local. Peng practised ink painting with his great-grandfather Baozhang. He studies nature for the small details and imperfections- choosing to include in his pieces that which many remove for decorative perfection. Having learned how different the Asian art styles are from what is traditionally taught in the UK, he now enjoys sharing the techniques with others.
