It is with regret that we at madeinroath have decided to postpone our Longer Tables street party, which was scheduled to take place this  Saturday from 11 – 4 at Plasnewydd Road.

Unfortunately the weather is forecast to be really unpleasant, and we didn’t want such a lovely event to be spoilt by difficult (and possibly unsafe) conditions. Keep an eye out for the rescheduled event in Spring!

We’re very pleased to say that our friends at The Gate and TAVS Bakery have come to the rescue and you’ll find many of the artists and events scheduled for Longer Tables at these venues, so please come along and enjoy. We’ll be posting details of exactly who/what you can find and where as soon as possible.

We’d also like to invite you to an additional event, to make up for this postponement, at Spit & Sawdust.

Come along from 6pm to enjoy their current exhibition Fuzzy Bunny by Gwenni Llwyd and Carlota Nobrega and enjoy some free hot food and bread prepared by Thom O’Sullivan and the TAVS bake team during Friday and Saturday.

At 8pm Tim Bromage: The Museum of Divergent Realities takes place and promises to be a festival highlight.

See the original event listing below.

Invitation!

You are cordially invited to the
Longer Tables Street Party

Where: Plasnewydd Road,
(between Strathnairn & Albany Rd)
When: Saturday 21st Oct, 11am – 4pm

Come along and take part in a very special street party for Roath – take your place at the table and enjoy all that it has to offer…

The Table

Artist Thom O’Sullivan and odd job man Christian Hart have created a bespoke 100ft table transforming Plasnewydd Road into a site of welcome, creativity and sharing. The table will provide opportunities to learn, create, eat and talk. At this Longer Table everyone is welcome – sit alongside each other, share and celebrate.

Bring a Dish!

A street party wouldn’t be the same without a shared lunch! We’d love it if you brought along your favourite dish, the glut of veggies from the allotment, the forgotten tin from the back of the cupboard or your most delicious bake. Throughout the day we’ll be using these offerings to create a meal-for-all long the table.
