Silly. Playful. D/s. Drawing. Creating a series of processes with which we interdependently make a drawing. One person the manipulator. One Body the tool.
Whilst there is a seemingly D/s dynamic, who really has control? Does control always equal ‘Power’? Or does reciprocal trust create a greater sense of ‘Power’ for the individual?
Both participants have an active interest in using our bodies and movement. We contemplate other sensual ways we can connect to one another, not always through speech, touch that isn’t about sex. This performance and preparation for it will be a learning experience for our own friendship. Contains nudity. Part of the ‘Get Yourself Inside’ event.
Kate is a bendy Bike fanatic. She is a performer in Les Velobici, festivals this year included Fusion, Boomtown and Bike Smut.
Serena likes paint, hanging upside down and slow shutter speeds. She spent the last year bound up in a Kink scene in NZ.
We both love Shimmer & Rope!

The general idea of the performance is my personal response to our rape culture that encourages victim blaming. I would like to research and explore the topic of victimization further and want to go beyond sexual assault and address the wider culture of victim blaming.
A Dark Blue Daffodil Is a work in progress and is strongly influenced by my own and other women’s life experience. I have dedicated a lot of time on researching Brock Turner’s case, the tendency of courts to excuse a perpetrator’s behaviour when he does not fit their preconceptions of what a rapist looks and acts like, all the while the victim’s traumatic experience is ignored or even blamed upon them.

Cleft is a highly interactive show that mixes clown, burlesque and something we found behind the shed. It’s about trying to find your place in a world that feels made for everyone but you, but more importantly is about a demented punk clown trying to understand love.
(ADULT CONTENT) Part of the ‘Get Yourself Inside’ event.
Cleft is an unpredictable and constantly evolving creature looking to understand the world with YOUR help. Each show is a one of a kind, unique experience never to be repeated. There’s nowhere to hide from his playful, inquisitive nature, if you sit in the first 150 rows you will get wet!

What makes a saint? Dedication, faith, self-sacrifice. What makes a slag? Tenacity, hope, yielding. Join us to learn the gospel of the saintly slag and explore how sacrifice, generosity and kindness come with slagdom. The Chapel of the Saintly Slag was purpose-built from papermarche and stolen paint. In it, for the first time, high priestess Younan of the Saintly Slag will deliver the Sermon of the Saintly Slag and lead her congregation in praising all the slags of the world.

Ice Maiden is a reflection on the poem by Lesley Saunders, exploring the fates of two girls separated by millennia, as they merge with the crystalline world of ice. It comes from my current collaboration with writers, exploring narrative through word and image, supported by a Creative Wales Award.
I am interested in exploring the relationship between fantasy and experience and the locations in which these two worlds collide. I am drawn to effigies of the living – uncanny, half-alive objects such as puppets, automata, figures that were made with a specific purpose in mind such as to embody religious beliefs. Being in the presence of something borderline raises questions as to the nature and perception of reality, the nearness of death or absence of life.

Flags of Roath is a new project by artist James Cocks. Through a series of printed flags, which explore the rich cultural, social and historical identities of Roath, James will be hosting a celebratory procession through the streets of Roath to introduce these images to the community, highlighting all that is positive about Roath. The procession will feature performers, Welcome House artists, musicians and James Greens’ masks.
The flags will be on display at Made in Roath’s studios at Welcome House at the beginning of the day on Saturday 15th. From Welcome House, the procession will work its way to the Global Home event on Plasnewydd Rd to join the Puppet Parade before travelling on to 28 The Parade. On Sunday, the flags will be exhibited at Welcome House.
This project draws upon James’ involvement in the Red Route marches of Made in Spring ‘15 & ‘16 and the Cardiff without Culture protest earlier in the year.

Music of the Spheres uses mathematics, and attempts to demonstrate that everything, including the Earth and planets, produce a resonant pitch. Gareth Ziggy is an artist primarily working with sound.
The piece consists of an interactive spinning globe that emits frequencies and will light up in specific locations depending on sounds made by the viewer. In harmony with the piece the viewer becomes part of the celestial symphony that is ever present but normally inaudible to the human ear. The artist also links the use of sound by humans throughout the ages to produce certain effects, such as healing the body and building the Great Pyramid of Giza through to torture methods used by the American military and shopkeepers playing specific tones to drive teenagers away from hanging around outside their premises.
