Natalie Ramus is a multi disciplinary artist based in the Welsh borders. Often using action in her work, she makes use of her body to make site specific interventions. Natalie attempts to explore the edges of the performance space, curious as to where it ends or begins, she seeks to dismantle and illuminate, challenge and provoke that which she faces as a female with a performative, visceral, abject body whilst elevating the domestic, the mundane or the overlooked.
This work is an exploration of a space and the time that passes through it in the form of shadows and light. Through durational action an attempt to capture and fix these fleeting moments allows the traces of the day to be captured, leaving a residual map of time. Through repetitive meditative action, time opens up and man made measures melt away allowing a shifted visual occurrence of a day to be experienced. Residual traces remain like ghosts of moments past.
