Watch-Africa’s ‘Wales-Africa Film Club’ was set up as an informal group interested in watching, exploring and getting involved in African film. The club is part of Watch-Africa Film Festival https://watch-africa.co.uk/
We are developing an African film club, an informal community of people interested in watching, exploring and getting involved in African film. The club which is part of Watch-Africa will use under served locations for screenings, especially BAME communities. Films related to Africa and those made by African filmmakers hardly reach everyone, we want to expand the reach of African films beyond independent cinemas. This screening kickstarts the club in Cardiff, to see and discuss the role of art in political activism, in this context looking at Burkina Faso and how art has shaped the political landscape of the country. We will be joined by artist and filmmakers from Burkina Faso and Gavin Porter for Q&A.
